Speakers and Bios

Troy Hinkle is the Development Director for the Knox County Soil and Water Conservation District in Vincennes, Indiana, and a member of the Steering Committee for the Southern Indiana Cooperative Invasives Management (SICIM). Troy worked with the Indiana NRCS State Office on the development of a contribution agreement to develop CISMAs in Indiana, and has helped secure additional funding to match the contribution agreement funds.

Brian Kruse is a forester with the USDA Natural Resources Conservation Service at the Indiana State Office.

Presentation Summary:

Brian Kruse and Troy Hinkle will discuss the details of a contribution agreement between the NRCS and Southern Indiana Cooperative Invasives Management (SICIM). The agreement provides funding for a five year project aimed at developing a Cooperative Invasive Species Management Area (CISMA) in each of Indiana’s 92 counties. Brian and Troy will also discuss the various partners that have come alongside to help this project succeed, and will describe some early successes of the project.
